Periodontal Services

Periodontal disease is an inflammatory infection of the gum tissues, and affects nearly half of the American adults in the US. The disease has been linked to heart disease and other systemic conditions. Dr. Callejo and his staff want their patients to have the best dental care possible in order to correct periodontitis, gingivitis, and minor inflammation.

Periodontal disease occurs when pockets of bacteria form in the gum tissue adjacent to teeth. As the bacteria grows, it destroys the healthy tissue that supports the tooth structure. If periodontal disease is not treated in a timely manner, the patient is likely to lose his or her teeth. Periodontal disease is the number one reason for tooth loss later in life.
