CAT scans, also known as computer tomography scans, allow doctors to evaluate their patients more accurately so they can deliver a more exact diagnosis and better treatment. The CONE BEAM Computer Tomography unit is state of the art and takes X-ray images differently from a traditional medical CAT scan unit. This sophisticated machine, which resembles a standard dental X-ray machine requires less operating time and uses much less radiation. In order to take a scan, the machine passes around the sitting patient in 20 seconds, at low radiation intensity, to produce very accurate 3D images.

Four studies from the CONE BEAM Computer Tomography unit are available: an AIRWAY STUDY, an IMPLACTION STUDY, a TMJ STUDY, and an IMPLANT STUDY. A CD with the patient's entire 3 dimensional data set and computer software to view the information will also be provided to us for more in depth, custom evaluation. A pathology report, radiology report, or further studies can be implemented.
